I have
always loved hand crafts. I learned these from my mother when I was
very young. I never saw her use a pattern to make anything. She
designed all her own creations whether it be knitting, crochet,
tatting, needlework. A true artist! Lucky for me, I was interested
enough in what she did to learn her skills.
The key to good design
is and always has been, simplicity. Take a basic design and build on
it. The type of yarn you use can turn a basic knitted scarf or tee into
a work of art. There is such a gorgeous selection of yarns these days
but many of these do carry a very high price tag.
An animal lover, I am
opposed to using wool. It's just as well that I am allergic to it! I
stay with cotton, linen or hemp or combinations. Do remember to try
Bamboo yarn if you can! It's soft as silk and produces beautiful
results.
Enough chatter. I will
be adding patterns from time to time so check back periodically to see
what's new. If you are looking for high profile stuff, you had better
pick up a copy of Vogue Knitting. All my stuff is geared towards
simplicity and easy to make so even the most inexperienced crafters
will have no trouble.
